Registration in the Domestic Partnerships Registry with a foreign national
What is it and what is it for?
Persons who, regardless of their sex, live together in an emotional relationship similar to marriage, and who meet the registration requirements set out in Ley 5/2012 of 15 October, may register their relationship, with constitutive effect, in the Registro de Uniones de Hecho Formalizadas de la Comunidad Valenciana.
What documents are required?
- DNI, passport or NIE of both partners.
- Certificate of registration on the padrón (municipal register) proving that at least one of the two applicants is a resident of the Comunidad Valenciana.
- Certificate of marital status stating that they are single, separated, divorced or widowed.
- Full birth certificates from the Civil Registry for both partners.
- Notarial public deed setting out the will of the members of the partnership and meeting the requirements of Ley 5/2012 of 15 October, of the Generalitat, on Formalised Domestic Partnerships of the Comunidad Valenciana.
Express notarial divorce
What is an express notarial divorce?
An express notarial divorce by mutual consent is a quick and simple procedure when there are no children or joint assets.
The lawyer drafts the divorce settlement agreement (convenio regulador), which sets out the arrangements that will apply after the divorce, and both parties sign it before the notary together with the lawyer.
What documents are required?
- DNI, passport or NIE of both parties.
- Certificate of registration on the padrón (municipal register) for both spouses.
- Marriage certificate.
- Proposed divorce settlement agreement signed by both spouses.
